I Helped Mom Buy Groceries

This morning I woke up early. Mom said she wanted to go to the market to buy groceries, but her bag was very heavy, so I decided to go with her. When we arrived at the market, there were many people and the vegetable sellers were shouting prices. I saw a basket of fresh greens and asked Mom if she wanted to buy them. Mom said we also needed vegetables, fruit, and eggs. I picked up a bag and helped Mom put the groceries inside.

When we paid, I found that there was only a little money left in my wallet, and I felt a bit nervous. Mom smiled and said, “It’s okay, we can just buy what we need.” So we first bought the greens and eggs, then looked for cheap fruit. In the end Mom said she had already bought enough, and I was happy because I learned how to choose groceries.

On the way home, Mom asked what I learned today. I said I learned that “when buying things, you should look at the price and also the quality,” and I also learned how to talk with the sellers. Mom praised me for being sensible, and then we went to the park to walk. We heard children playing on the grass, and I felt that today was a very pleasant day.
